I’ve been writing poetry for seven years now. When I look back at my old work and compare it to my new work, I often see reoccurring themes which respond to the motifs in my life over the years. As I have changed over time, so has my writing and my opinions on life. Even if I disagree with some of my past writings, I do not intend to get rid of them because they document my development into the human I am today.
“Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes.”
I began with an email group for a while, and people within that group eventually told me to start a blog. I started one in Blogspot that moved over to WordPress. Both sat under the moniker Thoughts Trapped on a Page. I eventually decided to combine them and changed my name (previously Listening Daisy) and blog to a different location. Things posted during January 2012 were written prior to this date at some point. That month’s postings include some of my earliest poetry.
