Window of Opportunity

They say when god closes one door,

he opens a window.

.

I would rather

walk through a door,

than fall out a window.

.

I cultivated that door frame,

savored its lines,

planned my exit…

.

I suppose its better

for the shape of the frame

to change.

I suppose its better

for the people and the situation

to change.

But a slamming door

(before I can make my exit)

hurts.

.

Through the window

blows cold air

and floral wafts (Hints of what was).

I want to look through,

but when I look down,

it is so

high up.

.

With the door,

I had time.

It might of used to be

a window,

but with my time and cultivation,

the distance shrank,

and it became,

a door.

.

As each door slams,

a new window possibility,

materializes.

Sometimes,

it is a round window.

Sometimes,

it is a square window.

Sometimes,

it is a rectangular window,

like a coffin.
