Needing A Balloon

Sitting on park bench

People come up to her

Telling her stories

She blows up balloons

With the breath of each one

The myriad of balloons

She ties to her back

To form a rainbow

Of diverse greys

Life slumps on

With grey clouds

Floating past the bench

Inside a rainy sky

In the increasing cold

The balloons

Begin to crystalize

And each begins to shatter

She runs off the park bench

Tripping and falling

On shards of sharp heart break

Falling to her knees

When she looks up

She sees

A woman on a park bench

Blowing balloons

Straining to get out

Of the rainy sky
