Falling Into the Pond

The frog sits on his lily pad

Buzzing and bumbling

For a lady friend

He lets out a big bellow

And falls into the pond

Many things he sees there

The world turns upside down

Water goes upward towards the surface

Greens tickle his nose from a stony sky

His eyes are lamps

To an underground world

An attempted noise

And water fills his mouth

Eyes big

Floating upwards

Bidding farewell to the watery sky

Above on the lily pad

Flowers pink with petals

In and out

Breath from the blue sky

Winking clouds

Over a bright sun

Glimmering off the mucus

Of the frog’s potential mate

Green as the algae

Of the stony sky
