The Mad Car

The raging car

It hits the trashcans and street sides

Spilling mildewed dreams

And bad memories

Underfoot

.

Wanting it to stop

Trying to hit the breaks

SCREACH!

SMASH!

BANG!

Going on cruise-control

Thinking

The car has stopped still

.

Lines on the street

Purple and yellow

Bigger and bigger

Streaks passing

In a silent drift

Above the dreaded chaos

Muffled below

.

In the mirrors

Unnoticed

Placidly sit the images

Of other speeding uncontrolled cars

Zooming on

Broken highways

.

In the dreams

Spots on vision

Dots

Punctured by words

Yelling

Repeated

But how?

.

Forced awake

Cruel awakening

Windows opened

Cold water

On empty countryside

.

In and out of cities

The car zooms

Living in seclusion

And then wanting the city

Never still

Unable to control the rabid GPS
