Technological Meltdown

In my house

Jungle of wires

Twist and turn

I want to escape

They are wrapping around

Strangling me

Those boa constrictor wires

Is off

All the wires

The switches turned

The buttons pressed

The world of mine

Is still

As all falls into darkness

Silence…. peace at long last

A ticking

I try to ignore

Sink back into my chrysalis

In empty space

But it stabs at my ears

It needs to

Getting up

Out of the darkroom

Into a hall

Red eyes

Stare through

An alarm

I smash it

The authorities come

When they see my dark house

They ask

“What happened”

And I reply

That my “house plants”

Tried to take over

So I had to beat them back

Every last one
