Inside the Eye

My heart is quiet

Beating

My eyes heavy

I close them

And fall

.

I am tired

The clock in my head

Is ticking

And my eyelashes

Are stopped

.

Inside

I see an eye

It opens

The lashes

Are flowers

Waving in an empty wind

.

The clock ticks

And warmth

Spreads on a crease

A valley

.

Walking

Through lush grass

Eyes flicker

Green eyes

Tipped with purple

They watch me

.

I walk on

Into a crying stream

With sticky sand

On the edges

I bend down

.

I am watched

The heart beats

Hitting walls

.

Shooting through the eye

The lids open

And I see the ceiling

Fast approaching
