Clumsy Little Bird

I believe I am clumsy

A baby bird

Hopping

Tripping falling

Alone in the world

Hosting my

Imperfection

.

I shriek them

In my little voice

My problems

My issues

My thoughts

As an open book

None press their ear to

.

I am bare

To the world

Bare

And cold

Friendless

Each close friendship

Warmed to the heart

Is dropped

Out of my mind-nest

.

My little wings

Can only hold

The weight

Of the wind

Which even I

Fall through

Towards the ground

.

I flap my wings

Hitting everything around me

Awkward

On my little legs

I bump around

As a voice above me says

“She’s perfect”
