Shattered and then, Repaired

The clock chimes

On my day again

I see myself

In the mirror

Doing what I said

I’d never do again

.

Watching my hands move

Opposite

I see

I have fallen

Into temptation

Yet again

.

The hands

Move out dripping

My soul

Hung on them

Crying for relent

On these fancies

.

Looking around

My mirror self

Pulls out

Her object of fancy

And skims through it

.

Out of the mirror

I gasp in horror

And I through my arm out

Hitting the mirror

And shattering it

.

Inside

She give an evil

One last time

Before she falls

As if to say

“I’ll be back”

When I feel

Like looking at myself in a mirror

Again
