Shattered and then, Repaired

The clock chimes

On my day again

I see myself

In the mirror

Doing what I said

I’d never do again

Watching my hands move

I see

I have fallen

Into temptation

Yet again

The hands

Move out dripping

My soul

Hung on them

Crying for relent

On these fancies

Looking around

My mirror self

Pulls out

Her object of fancy

And skims through it

Out of the mirror

I gasp in horror

And I through my arm out

Hitting the mirror

And shattering it

She give an evil

One last time

Before she falls

As if to say

“I’ll be back”

When I feel

Like looking at myself in a mirror
