I Mean, I Cruel & I Heartless

Caught in

A bell jar

It beats

Its wings

The pixie

Giving off light

In a squeaky voice

Begs

For freedom

.

I cruel

I Mean

Watch the sparkles

The dust

Fly off the body

Watch the light

Begin

To smolder

I heartless

.

It warns

It begs

It pleads

As the light in its eyes

Begins to fade

Replaced

By grey

As the wings

Drop off

And scales

Abound

.

The lizard

Grows

Hitting the glass

Snapping the “bell”

Its claw

Pushes me down

Into my place

Under

The bell jar

Where I

Plead

To the lizard mean

The lizard cruel

The lizard heartless
