Imagine a City

The waves of imagination

Flow back and forth

Flowing and ebbing

From bursts of crashing creativity

To empty echoes of writer’s block

.

They hit the surface of my head

Inspiring head aches

And melancholy

Smiles

And exuberance

.

Sometimes

A wave

Will come crashing hard

So hard

It jars the world

The head

And all becomes still

.

Creatures come out

Probing and needling the

Frozen thought wave

Carving it

Into something

A city

.

The city flashes

As they make candles

Setting them alight

Hanging them

On the windows to the soul

.

I stare out from a window

Within my city

Onto a paper

And begin

To draw write  it out

My city

Carved

From a thought wave

Lost in the deep space

Of my head
