Swinging Into the Sky, Alone

She sits

Inside her heart

Pumping her legs

Up and down

On a swing alone

To her heartbeat

She does this

In a timeless way

Trying to not forget

To idle away the time

But she still sits

In a melancholy sadness

People pass

Playing on the

Pink plastic slide

The green seesaw

But never

The swing

Each day

She is alone

Up and down

To hit the sky

With her toes

But one day

She flies off

And the kid

Just off the slide

Reaches out

Helping her up

Walking her back to the swing

And offering

To help her push

To be her friend

And make it better
