Warm Hand

Salty tears

Sliding down the cheeks

Past freckles

And a bow mouth

They cry

For some

Unknown reason

.

And then

A warm hand

Touches the hand

Spreading

A wave of sympathy

Understanding

.

The tears

Hiccup away

And looking up

The crier

See’s the sparkling eyes

Of someone

Who understands

A neighbor, a cousin, a

Friend

.
