Suede Eye

I looked down
She seemed to be
Sinking into the bed
 .
Her head moved
Through folds of blue
Her black hair
Turning midnight
Becoming pale
 .
She gazed
With wide huge eyes
Looking at me
As if telling me
“Go away”
 .
Sitting by the side
Stroking soft cloth
Where her skin used to be
That wasted skin
 .
She wasted
Her life away
Lying on her bed
Helpless
Yet there
 .
She wouldn’t move
And after a while
She couldn’t
Her eyes
So large
Finally fade
Matching the cloth
Of the worn in bed
