The Sun

In this snowy land

Cold winds of misfortune blow

Snow falls continuously

Winter is cold and endless

And so is misery

The days are dark

Dark like the night

All that can be seen is an endless expanse

That of the cold white

The snow of sadness

The world rocks and shakes

Dislodging snow and ice

Dislodging the sun from its hiding spot

The dark cave where it was dwelling

Showing the world a light

A hope

Something to reach up to

Being grasped for by the people

By the plants yearning for sun

By all who dreamed of hope

Causing the ice to melt

Showing a traumatized land

The ice may melt

Yet there will still be scars

Scars on the land that will be covered by green again

Seeing happy times

And sun again
