The Utopian Tower

Building the mountain

Brick after brick

To try to reach

The endless sky

Those who warn against

Tempting fate

Those who want to keep the cruel world

Are thrown off the tower

When this project is finished

No more construction need be done

It will be a Utopia

Where no one need be homeless

The whispers begin then

The ghosts of old worries

Rising from the dust

The dust that those who disagreed fell on

The old worries

Are beginning to return

As more people are thrown off

The carefully made bricks

Of the Utopian society

Are beginning to fall

Brick by brick

The dream

Shatters upon the Earth

As people rise up

With doubt

And mistrust

Scattering the dust of the dream

That will never become reality
